Founded in 1938 as Navigation Coal & Coke Co. by Elmer Wylie, the firm proceeded to change its name to E.W. Wylie Corporation and gained prominence in the trucking industry hauling sugar beets in the Red River Valley.
In the 1980s E.W. Wylie expanded into a 48 state long haul flatbed carrier operating over 200 tractor-trailers.
In 1999 the trucking assets and name was purchased by Ottertail Power Company and the name was subsequently changed to Matrix Properties Corporation. Matrix began its real estate division in the early 1980’s.
